📢 When Will FY 2025–26 Income Tax Filing Start?

Many taxpayers are confused about the filing period for Financial Year (FY) 2025–26.

Financial Year (FY): 1 April 2025 – 31 March 2026

Assessment Year (AY): 2026–27

👉 Income Tax Return (ITR) filing for FY 2025–26 will generally begin from April 2026, once the Income Tax Department enables the ITR utilities for AY 2026–

Expected Timeline

ITR utilities release: April / May 2026

Filing due date (Non-audit cases): Usually 31 July 2026

Audit cases: Usually 31 October 2026.
